This course unit introduces the Industrie 4.0 toolbox. It represents a central element of the Guideline Industrie 4.0 (see previous course unit). It brings the various application levels of Industrie 4.0 in terms of product innovations and production technology applications together. The application levels are separated into five technological development stages. The Industrie 4.0 toolbox becomes the starting point for classifying the competencies of the company and thus serves as the basis for new ideas in the further course. The toolbox is divided into the areas of product and production. The first area supports the generation of ideas for the development of innovative Industrie 4.0 products. The area of production deals with this, how production processes can be optimized and production costs can be reduced with the help of Industrie 4.0 technologies.
